The Kia EV2 is a cute little EV made for the European market.
Kia has officially pulled the covers off its smallest and most accessible electric vehicle yet. Debuting at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, the all-new Kia EV2 is a compact electric SUV designed to be the ultimate city companion, blending a “Picnic Box” interior concept with a respectable range of up to 448 km.

Revealed under the theme “The Power of Firsts,” the EV2 serves as the new entry point into Kia’s electric portfolio. It is designed to capture first-time EV buyers who want the practicality of an SUV without the bulky footprint.

“Opposites United” Design
Despite its compact size, the EV2 maintains a confident SUV identity. Utilizing Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, it features an upright stance, strong shoulder lines, and geometric wheel arches that give it a solid road presence.

- Front: Features Kia’s latest “Star Map” signature lighting and a clean, solid face.
- Rear: Vertical tail lamps at the outer edges emphasize width.
- GT-Line: A sportier EV2 GT-Line was also revealed, featuring body-coloured garnishes, aggressive bumpers, and exclusive wheels for a more adventurous look.
Interior: The “Picnic Box” Concept
The highlight of the EV2 is its interior, which Kia designers call the “Picnic Box.” The goal was to create a cozy, durable, and space-efficient personal zone.

The dashboard features a massive panoramic widescreen display comprising a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 5-inch climate panel, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
Despite its small footprint, practicality is class-leading:
- Flexible Space: Sliding second-row seats create up to 958 mm of rear legroom.
- Cargo: A boot capacity of 403 litres and a “frunk” (front trunk) for charging cables.
- Thoughtful Details: The car greets the driver with a “HELLO :)” message on the screen and bids farewell with “HAVE A NICE DAY.”
Powertrain and Range
The Kia EV2 is engineered for urban efficiency but is capable of weekend getaways. It will be available with two battery options:
- Standard Range: 42.2 kWh battery with up to 317 km range (WLTP).
- Long Range: 61.0 kWh battery with up to 448 km range (WLTP).

Charging:
- Fast Charging (DC): 10-80% in 30 minutes.
- AC Charging: Supports 11 kW and 22 kW onboard charging.
- V2L/V2G: The vehicle supports Vehicle-to-Load functionality, allowing owners to power external devices—perfect for the “picnic” lifestyle.

Technology & Safety
Kia has not stripped out features for this entry-level model. The EV2 comes packed with upper-segment tech, including:
- Kia AI Assistant: For conversational voice control.
- Digital Key 2: Use your smartphone as a key.
- ADAS Suite: Includes Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), and Hands-on Detection (HoD).

The GT Family Expands
Alongside the standard EV2, Kia also showcased its commitment to high-performance EVs by introducing a slew of new GT models, including the EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT, and EV5 GT.
