Hyundai Motor Malaysia Unleashes World-Class Electric Performance with IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N at KLIMS 2026.
Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has officially reached a high-performance milestone at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2026) with the dual launch of the IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N. Marking the domestic debut of Hyundai Motor Company’s track-honed “N” sub-brand, the arrival of these flagships introduces a completely new class of performance electric vehicles (EVs) to Malaysian roads.

Built on a philosophy of “Never Just Drive,” the Hyundai N division originates from engineering roots validated at the Namyang R&D Centre in South Korea and rigorously honed on the legendary 20.8km Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. According to Ms. Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia, the new arrivals offer an uncompromised driving experience:
“The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N are testaments that electric performance vehicles can be equally thrilling and more. When customers get behind the wheel, they will know you Never Just Drive with Hyundai N.”

1. IONIQ 5 N: The Track-Capable Crossover
Crowned as the 2024 World Performance Car, the IONIQ 5 N is a bold statement engineered to deliver a visceral, emotional driving experience through specialized, N-exclusive technology.

- Peak Power Output: 650 PS (with N Grin Boost)
- 0-100 km/h Sprint: 3.4 seconds
- Maximum Speed: 260 km/h
- Battery & Range: 448 km (WLTP rated)
- Wheelbase Dimensions: 3,000 mm
- Transmission Simulation: N e-Shift (8-speed DCT)
The crossover implements a track-tuned chassis alongside an arsenal of specialized software designed to replicate the mechanical engagement of a high-performance combustion machine. Key systems include N e-Shift (which simulates the shifting sensations and rev-matching of an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission), N Active Sound+ (NAS+), an integrated N Drift Optimiser, N Torque Distribution (NTD), and N Launch Control.

Despite its aggressive performance thresholds, the crossover’s massive 3,000mm wheelbase ensures that everyday family practicality remains completely intact. The IONIQ 5 N is officially priced at RM443,888 and is available strictly on an exclusive, built-to-order basis.
2. IONIQ 6 N: The Precision Supercar Sedan
Built upon the slippery, aerodynamic silhouette of the IONIQ 6 Streamliner platform, the newly crowned 2026 World Performance Car—the IONIQ 6 N—serves as a precision-focused counterpart to its crossover sibling.

- Sleek Aerodynamics: Cloaked in an aggressive exterior body kit that achieves a remarkably low 0.27 Cd drag coefficient.
- Blistering Performance: Matches the same 650 PS output using N Grin Boost, slicing its 0–100 km/h sprint down to a blistering 3.2 seconds before topping out at 257 km/h.
- Chassis & Range Control: Features a stroke-sensing Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS) to transition seamlessly from carving racetrack corners to serene city commutes, backed by an extended 487 km of WLTP-rated range.
The IONIQ 6 N is officially priced at RM449,888 on a built-to-order basis. Customer orders can be securely placed through authorized regional Hyundai N dealers, including Sime Darby Auto Hyundai (Selangor/KL), Goh Brothers Motor (Penang), and Heng Lian Enterprise (Kuching).
