Following its rapid rise to become one of the top three brands in Malaysia’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) market for the first half of 2026, iCAUR Malaysia has officially announced the launch of the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) version of the iCAUR V23. The first locally assembled units are scheduled to land in authorized dealer showrooms across the country by the end of the month.
The transition to local assembly represents a core part of the brand’s long-term commercial commitment to the Malaysian automotive ecosystem. By establishing a local production line, iCAUR Malaysia aims to significantly bolster vehicle supply confidence and expand its market reach with greater agility, all while continuing to offer a highly distinctive product that delivers everyday utility and immense design personality. The iCaur 03 too is locally-assembled.
CBU-Level Specifications Maintained at a Competitive RM132,780
A major highlight of the local assembly roll-out is that the iCAUR V23 iWD CKD fully retains the precise equipment specifications, build quality, and safety standards of the original, fully imported Completely Built-Up (CBU) variant. Crucially for buyers, iCAUR Malaysia has achieved this manufacturing localization while keeping its original, highly competitive pricing structure intact, locking the vehicle in at RM132,780.
Senior Director of iCAUR Malaysia, Mr. Francis Chin, emphasized that local assembly is a direct market commitment. He noted that the V23 has already proven that Malaysian car buyers are deeply receptive to electric vehicles with distinct personalities, and the CKD project allows the company to respond to this growing consumer demand with stronger logistical backing and an accessible entry point that sacrifices zero character.
Visually, the iCAUR V23 continues to break away from traditional EV aesthetics by leveraging its signature Boxy Retro Classic styling. The design language beautifully strikes a balance between a rugged, off-road-inspired silhouette and clean, ultra-modern electric vehicle design elements.
