GAC Group Reaches Historic Milestone With the Roll-Off of Its 30-Millionth Vehicle

GAC has reached a major production milestone and it’s the M8 PHEV that crosses the line.

GAC Group officially celebrated the production rollout of its 30-millionth vehicle during a customer appreciation event hosted at its flagship manufacturing plant in Guangzhou. Reaching the monumental figure in just 29 years, the achievement underscores the rapid expansion of the Chinese automotive giant as it accelerates its global transition toward electrification and intelligent mobility.

The milestone ceremony was attended by senior government officials, leadership executives including GAC Group Chairman Feng Xingya and President Xia Xianqing, global supply partners, media representatives, and international vehicle owners.

Highlighting the group’s global manufacturing footprint, several international assembly bases connected via live broadcast as a sequence of new energy vehicles (NEVs)—including the GAC Honda P7, GAC Toyota BZ7, AISTALAND GT7, AION N60, and HYPTEC S600—rolled off production lines as vehicles 29,999,995 through 29,999,999.

The definitive 30-millionth vehicle to take center stage was a right-hand-drive (RHD) GAC M8 PHEV (branded as the GN8 in selected export markets).

In a ceremony highlighting GAC’s expanding global outreach, Chairman Feng Xingya formally handed over the keys to the milestone RHD luxury MPV to renowned Thai action star Tony Jaa. The event also featured testimonials from international owners, including Dr. Yahya Al Jasmi from the United Arab Emirates, who highlighted the M8’s reliability, climate performance, and specialized wheelchair-accessible features.

GAC’s milestone coincides with rapid international commercial growth driven by its “One GAC 2.0” global strategy. Shifting from traditional CBU vehicle exports to a full-system localized manufacturing layout, the group’s overseas footprint currently spans 110 countries and territories, supported by 746 sales outlets, 7 overseas assembly plants, and 9 parts distribution hubs.

* 2025 Global Exports: Over 130,000 units exported (up 47% YoY).
* 1H 2026 Growth: Cumulative exports exceeded 120,000 units (up 132% YoY).
* Total Lifetime Exports: Surpassed 540,000 vehicles shipped overseas.
* Long-Term Target: Aiming for 1,000,000 annual overseas sales by 2030.

Regional manufacturing hubs reached parallel milestones during the event:

  • Thailand Assembly Hub: Celebrated the roll-off of its 10,000th complete vehicle, solidifying its position as GAC’s primary production base for right-hand-drive export markets.
  • Indonesia (Jakarta) Plant: Launched new localized electric models to strengthen supply capacity across ASEAN.
  • Austria (Graz) Plant: Officially commenced localized European mass production of the compact AION UT hatchback.

Global Strategic Model Offensive

To maintain its commercial momentum, GAC highlighted three core strategic models spearheading its international line-up:

  1. AION UT: A stylish, intelligent compact electric hatchback that recently secured Thailand’s “2026 Car of the Year” award.
  2. GAC GS7: The brand’s first plug-in hybrid SUV launched for international markets, currently exported across 15 countries in South America and Central Asia.
  3. AION i60: Offered in both pure-electric (BEV) and extended-range (EREV) powertrains, scheduled to enter full production at the Rayong plant in Thailand during the second half of 2026.

In conjunction with the milestone, GAC Group has launched a global “30-millionth Vehicle Roll-off · Renewed Gratitude Season” promotional campaign, rolling out targeted customer offers and service incentives across all active international sales regions.
