PRO-NET Partners Major CPOs to Roll Out Proton e.MAS Branded Charging Stations Across Malaysia

Proton e.MAS branded charging stations are coming from these three charge point operators.

PROTON New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), the green mobility arm managing the national Proton e.MAS brand, has formalized major strategic partnerships with three of Malaysia’s leading charge point operators (CPOs): DC Handal, JomCharge, and chargEV. The joint initiative will establish Proton e.MAS branded public charging stations nationwide, with the initial rollout scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026 starting at a prominent lifestyle destination before expanding across key interstate travel corridors.

Under the agreement, PRO-NET will collaborate closely with all three charging network operators on joint branding, station marketing, and charging point infrastructure development. Crucially for Proton EV drivers, customers who initiate and pay for charging sessions directly through the Proton e.MAS mobile app will enjoy discounted charging rates across participating branded stations.

Expanding Strategic Public Charging Accessibility

The deployment focuses primarily on strategic, high-density public hubs, integrating charging access seamlessly into commercial centers, lifestyle malls, and frequent highway transit stops.

Currently, the Proton e.MAS digital network integrates access to more than 4,700 charging points across Peninsular and East Malaysia, covering over 90% of the country’s existing public charging network. This infrastructure is linked to the vehicle’s onboard operating system via the Integrated Live Charging Map, providing real-time bay availability and navigation.

PRO-NET Chief Executive Officer Zhang Qiang highlighted that as mainstream Malaysian motorists accelerate their transition toward electrified mobility, straightforward and dependable charging access is central to ownership satisfaction. Zhang noted that combining the strengths of established CPOs with PRO-NET’s digital ecosystem will make electric driving more practical, accessible, and financially rewarding for e.MAS owners.

Seamless App Integration and Operator Support

The integration allows drivers to handle authentication, charging telemetry, and payment processing within a single digital platform without needing to navigate multiple third-party apps.

Key advantages delivered through the CPO partnership include:

  • Discounted Charging Tariffs: Exclusive discounted charging tariffs negotiated directly between PRO-NET and operator partners for e.MAS mobile app transactions.
  • Established Customer Care Support: Direct access to the operational capabilities and technical hotlines of DC Handal, JomCharge, and chargEV during charging sessions.
  • Vendor Ecosystem Participation: Alignment with the Malaysian government’s localization objectives by expanding opportunities for local parts suppliers, electrical contractors, and software technicians to participate in building national EV infrastructure.

Ahmad Munif Halim, Head of Charging at PRO-NET, emphasized that partnering with proven charging operators simplifies daily vehicle replenishment while ensuring reliable customer assistance is available around the clock.

Strengthening the National EV Infrastructure

As PRO-NET continues expanding the Proton e.MAS footprint nationwide, its collaboration with major charging network operators underscores a collaborative approach to tackling charging anxiety. By pairing a widespread digital roaming map with branded physical fast chargers and discounted tariffs, PRO-NET is positioning the e.MAS ownership ecosystem for long-term practicality and sustainable mass adoption.
