Mitsubishi About To Unveil 5th Generation Pajero

This latest Pajero will have it global unveiling on September 2, 2026

The fifth-generation Mitsubishi Pajero is scheduled for its global debut on September 2, 2026. The new model will adopt a ladder-frame chassis, replacing the unibody construction used in the previous generation.

By the way, Mitsubishi is reviving the classic, fan-favorite dashboard “triple multi-meter” as a sleek, ultra-modern digital off-road gauge display showing roll, pitch, and altitude.

It will be equipped with the same Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) four-wheel-drive system found in the Triton pickup truck which is a system that comprehensively manages torque distribution, braking force, and vehicle stability.

The well known S-AWC technology has previously been used in the Lancer Evolution X and Triton models. The new Pajero is expected to combine S-AWC with the Super Select 4WD-II transfer case, enabling seamless switching between 2WD, full-time 4WD, and low-range 4WD modes.

Lets address the looks of this next Pajero. In terms of design, the vehicle may offer two (2) distinct front-end styling options tailored to different markets. While powertrain details have not yet been officially announced, industry observers anticipate a diesel hybrid configuration, given the shared platform with the Triton.

Mitsubishi has previously hinted at a hybrid version of the Pajero, though specifics such as battery capacity, electric range, and engine pairing remain undisclosed. Additionally, Mitsubishi plans to launch a compact, K-Car-sized Pajero variant featuring hybrid technology between 2028 and 2030.

Built in Thailand, it serves as the spiritual successor to the Triton-based Pajero Sport, heavily moving upmarket to rival premium body-on-frame SUVs like the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Ford Everest

Question ……? Will Mitsubishi Motor Malaysia launch this latest Pajero in Malaysia?
