Skoda Octavia RS Models Coming To Malaysia
Bermaz Motor, the guardians of the Skoda brand here in Malaysia has been rather quiet the past 2 years. With only activity coming from previous stock sellouts. They reignited the Skoda brand this month with the introduction of the Octavia RS which is one of the most powerful and fastest mass-produced Škoda models. This is in fact a current VW Golf GTI in a subdued shape. Skoda actually belongs to VW group and all their products sit on VW platforms using their drivetrains. Only exterior and interior looks are Skoda’s own. Over the past few years only the stock Octavia TSI, Fabia hatch and its wagon (combi) version have been offered for sale. Last year a small number of new units were quietly released into the market.
The RS design will get your adrenalin flowing and bring you genuine pleasure from driving. The sporty atmosphere can be felt in every detail.
Sporty leather seats with marked lateral support and an RS emblem stand out in the interior, as do a three-spoke multifunctional leather steering wheel, which is available with the automatic six-speed DSG transmission, and also noble steel pedal covers and a Swing car radio with a CD and MP3 player in an elegant frame together with controls for Climatronic dual-zone automatic air-conditioning. An attractive exterior goes with a sporty car.
The Octavia RS’s character is perfectly captured by the 18” Neptune light alloy wheels, bumpers with an integrated spoiler, an aerodynamic spoiler on the fifth door and the double exhaust. Let’s not forget the tinted glass, xenon headlights with rotary modules, fog lights in the RS design and LED diodes of the daytime running lights. Pricing will be announced in the next few weeks. It will have to be really attractive to pry buyers away from VW products like the Golf Mk6 and the gorgeous Passat CC. Lets see what kind of magic pricing Bermaz will do.
