Caltex and Maybank Present Prizes Worth over RM120,000
Chevron Malaysia Limited (“Chevron”) and Maybank today presented 10 Grand Prizes of Caltex StarCash cards worth RM5,000 each to winners of the Maybankard Visa Debit, Win RM120,000 Caltex Voucher Promotion held from August 15 to December 31, 2010. The promotion was open to customers who used their Maybankard Visa Debit at over 400 Caltex™ stations nationwide during the campaign period. Those who used the Maybankard Visa Debit card to pay a minimum of RM40 in a single receipt were eligible to win monthly cash rewards ranging from RM200 to RM500 in the form of Caltex StarCash cards. Winners could redeem the rewards at any Caltex™ station.
The promotion offered 50 monthly winners, with the selection of winners based on every 50th transaction and up to the 2,500th transaction. Grand Prize winners were selected based on the highest number of transactions with their Maybankard Visa Debit Card.
Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony, Maybank Executive Vice President and Head of Cards and Unsecured Lending, B Ravintharan thanked the Maybankard Visa Debit Cardmembers for their support throughout the promotion period.
“The joint campaign was to promote the benefits of using cashless payments via debit cards for small items, especially its payment convenience. At the same time, we are happy to reward them for their loyalty. We have seen an average increase 80 percent in monthly Maybankard Visa Debit transaction during the four months, compared with the corresponding period in 2009. This growth reflects increasing popularity of using debit cards for shopping and as the mode of payment,” said Ravintharan.
Maybankard Visa Debit launched in 2008, is Maybank’s first dual purpose Bankcard which offers domestic and international acceptance at over millions of merchant worldwide who accept Visa cards.
