Tire manufacturer Goodyear Malaysia, recently added a new member to its 2011 Drift Team – veteran drifter Tan Tat Wei. Tan, formerly from a different team, has already begun making headlines following his success at Formula Drift (FD) Singapore 2011. There he led the pack with the best run of the day, scoring 73.7 points whilst showcasing great amount of skills, control and precision on somewhat a tricky and difficult circuit. Currently, he is drifting in his Toyota Corolla AE86.
Tan is the fifth member to Team Goodyear. Other drifters include Ariff Johanis Ahmad, Azrina Jane Abdullah (Malaysia’s only professional female drifter), Hanizam Hamzah and Michael Gan. “We welcome Tan to Team Goodyear and congratulate him for his outstanding performance at FD Singapore 2011, his first major event with Team Goodyear,” said Zakariah Ahmad, Managing Director, Goodyear Malaysia Berhad.
