Motorsport Asia signs Broadcast Agreement with ESPN Star Sports until 2014
Asia’s premier race organisers, Motorsport Asia, have signed a Broadcast Agreement with ESPN Star Sports extending the airing of AFOS TV programmes on the ESPN Star Sports network until end of 2014. The agreement will mean that programmes produced under the AFOS TV banner, which includes the JK Racing Asia Series and GT Asia Series will be distributed to all countries within ESPN Star Sports’ reach.
A total of more than 300 million viewers throughout Asia will continue to be able to view each and every race of the JK Racing Asia Series and GT Asia Series both on Star Sports channel in Standard Definition as well as on the ESPN HD High Definition channel as part of a series of dedicated programmes.
“We have had a long standing relationship with ESPN Star Sports and the extension of our agreement is an exciting addition to an already strong start to our year. For 2012, we have already forged many great new partnerships with strong brands from around the world, further strengthening the Series run by Motorsport Asia” said David Sonenscher, CEO of Motorsport Asia.
Each race will have a dedicated 30 minute programme not only featuring the race but also filled with Team and Driver profiles, driver interviews, location profiles, technical features and behind the scenes highlights from each venue visited. Providing a full in depth view into the best racing Series’ in Asia.
“Last year our programmes were one hour long with two races in one show. This year the programmes will be shorter and faster paced and will focus on the stories behind each individual race, giving our viewers a chance to get a better perspective of the Championships as they develop.
“This year we will also be producing the programmes in full High Definition making the cars, the colour and the excitement of the locations we visit come to life even more through this increased quality. Furthermore, having our programmes continuing to be made available on one of the strongest channels in Asia is of a great benefit to all our partners, teams and drivers” ended Sonenscher.
