0Saab 9-5 Returns With Beijing Auto Branding
China-based Beijing Auto will begin selling its first vehicle model based on the former Saab 9-5 platform in the 4th quarter in 2012. The automobile is based on the old Saab 9-5 platform. The automaker bought the technology in 2009 from the Swedish automaker Saab which has gone bankrupt recently. The C70G midsize sedan was launched at the Beijing car show in April. It comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. It is 4860 mm or 191.33 inches in length, 1820 mm or 71.65 inches in width and 1641 mm or 64.60 inches in height, BAIC revealed. The vehicle will rival the Mazda6. BAIC intends to introduce a comprehensive product range in the next few years. Vehicles in this lineup will be founded on the Saab 9-5 platform, which is known as the M-trix platform within BAIC. BAIC is a state-owned company based in Beijing. It also has joint ventures with Daimler and Hyundai Motor.
