Nissan Juke-R Goes From Idea To Production. From RM1.7M
There has always been plenty of interest for the Juke-R since the boys at Nissan Europe played with the idea in their off work time. This has now transformed from being a one-off concept to a road car for sale and ready to be delivered to its 1st customer.
The Juke-R made its debut as a one-off concept in Dubai in January 2012. The R proved right away that there’s nothing else like it with its revised underpinnings of a GT-R covered by a muscular, re-sculpted Juke bodyshell. The Juke-R became a huge hit on YouTube with over 5 million views of Juke-R videos recorded so far. Its fan base just kept growing.
That’s how the idea of building a production version started. According to Darren Cox, Brand Director Nissan in Europe, the Juke made such a good impression in Dubai that they got offers to buy the original concept on the street. He said that after getting three genuine offers, they committed to producing a limited number of Juke-Rs. The production of Juke-R #002 is ongoing. It has a starting price of £400,000 (RM1.7million before tax and documents) but the final price will depend on the buyer’s exact specifications.
