Ferrari F150 Will Be A True Road Going Circuit Race Car

Ferrari will release a new flagship supercar codenamed the F150….nope it not the Ford Truck and Ferrari have just lost the rights to use the name F150. It will weigh about 1100kg and deliver more than 800bhp. This means that the Ferrari F150 will be a road-legal vehicle that will be the closest supercar to a true circuit competition race car. It’s been ten years already since Ferrari launched the Enzo and rewrote the sports car rule book. The F150 will be a replacement to the Enzo. It will use carbonfiber in its construction in a more sophisticated way when compared to the upcoming McLaren P1 supercar. (picture above and below is the Enzo)

In addition, Ferrari said that the entire car, starting with its radical race-car driving position to the radical active aerodynamics, will offer a driving experience that’s closer to the idea of a Formula 1 car for the road. ‘Aerodynamics equal efficiency,’ explains Flavio Manzoni from Ferrari, the man who heads a team of 20 designers and 12 modellers. ‘Efficiency does not only mean a low drag coefficient and a relatively small frontal area. Efficiency also warrants exceptional high-speed stability, which is a key confidence-inspiring characteristic. The art of aerodynamics is to create a slippery shape which produces exactly the right amount of downforce in all driving conditions. More information will be revealed in a few weeks.
