SsangYong Stavic MPV 2013 Model Comes With A 2.0L Diesel Engine

This is the all new redesigned SsangYong Stavic 11-seater MPV. SsangYong Motor Group launched this stylish large luxurious MPV this week in Gangnam Seoul. Now with a frugal and powerful 2-liter diesel engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox, this all new Stavic will offer owners lower running costs, great fuel economy, comfortable seating for 11 people including the driver and segment best road tax costs.

“With the success of our Actyon SUV and Actyon Sports pickup in the domestic and global market, we saw an impressive growth rate last year, which is a good sign for the revival of our brand,” Ssangyong Motor CEO Lee Yoo-il said during the launch event at the Seoul Trade Exhibition & Convention Centre (SETEC) in Gangnam, Seoul. “We hope that this Stavic ‘Turismo’ will continue the trend.”
The sales target for the new model is at 10,000 units for the local Korean market and another 10,000 units for the overseas markets like Malaysia, and the automaker now expects to see about a 20 percent growth in sales this year, meaning it will sell about 150,000 vehicles, up from 120,717 last year.
This 11-passenger capacity vehicle was developed as the next generation of the Stavic with around 180 billion won invested in the development for two and a half years. The Stavic Turismo has a more stylish look and the front fascia has large swept back headlamps while sharing the Actyon family look. SsangYong product managers and engineers emphasized to us that this new Stavic model is a premium multi-leisure vehicle, which combines the styling of a sport utility vehicle (SUV….there is a 4-wheel drive variant), the driving comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
This Stavic Turismo, is targeted at customers who want to enjoy leisure and outdoor activities with family and friends, the automaker said.

The Turismo is also equipped with an electronic four-wheel drive system which allows safer and more comfortable driving even when off-road, it added.
This all new Stavic is now powered by an turbo diesel DI200 LET engine which has been optimized for the traffic conditions of a large city with good low down torque.

It boasts 153 horsepower with a maximum torque of 36.7 kilogram-meter. More details and test drive report to come soon.
