Ford Gives Away An All-New Ford Focus Titanium

Ford last weekend held the highly anticipated final round of the All-New Ford Focus Challenge – Buy One, Win One to find the grand prize winner who best matched  the qualities of the all-new Ford Focus – smart, savvy and driven. Held at the Square, Publika, 20 finalists were pushed to their physical and intellectual limits on Saturday in three rounds of challenges, completing tasks designed to test their wits and physical prowess.
In the end, it was all-new Focus Titanium+ owner Leong Keng Wai, a banker with a financial institution, who beat 19 other finalists to emerge as the grand prize winner of an all-new Focus Titanium worth RM111,000.*

First runner-up Halim Shah bin Hamzah, an industrial engineering lecturer at University Teknologi Malaysia, won a 10-day, seven-night trip for two to Spain. Second runner-up went to Mohd Faiz bin Md Fathil, a human resources executive with Petronas, who scored himself an eight-day, five-night trip for two to Australia.
Ford also gave away a Nokia Lumia 820 smartphone to each of the participants who placed fourth to 10th.  The remaining participants received consolation prizes in the form of RM800 worth of AEON Jusco shopping vouchers.
“The All-New Ford Focus Challenge – Buy One, Win One is Ford’s way of going further to show our customers how smart and technology-packed the all-new Ford Focus is – and of course to have a lot of fun along the way,” said David Westerman, regional manager, Asia Pacific, Ford Export & Growth Operations. “We wanted to get all of our customers excited to be a part of the Ford family.”
Both physically and intellectually challenging, the final rounds began with a mini hunt to decipher given clues related to the various shopping outlets in the vicinity in a test of reasoning and speed. From there, the top 10 finalists moved on to round two which included a timed Sudoku challenge, a Focus-themed jigsaw puzzle and a tandem bike obstacle course challenge.
After the first two heart-thumping, fist-clenching rounds, the best three teams then faced off in a final challenge of word puzzles based on the smart and safety features available in the all-new Ford Focus.

“This was not an easy prize to win; the challenges were tough and demanded strong intellect and quick thinking, not to mention the ability to ride a tandem bicycle!  I applaud Ford for going the distance to organise this All-New Ford Focus Challenge to offer such a compelling incentive to owners of the all-new Focus. My wife and I are now a two-Focus family,” said Leong Keng Wai, who decided to give his grand prize – the all-new Focus Titanium – to his wife as a surprise.
“It’s been an awesome and fun day, and while we didn’t win the grand prize, we are thrilled to have clinched the first runner-up position. My wife and I are certainly looking forward to taking some time off to enjoy a lovely holiday in Spain soon, thanks to Ford and Sime Darby Auto Connexion,” said Halim Shah bin Hamzah, who had previously purchased a Midnight Blue all-new Ford Focus Titanium+, citing it as a great buy for its performance and handling, as well as all the smart features.
The finalists were chosen from more than 90 entries in the second elimination round conducted in January.

How the All-New Ford Focus Challenge – Buy One, Win One worked
All customers who placed an order and took delivery of an all-new Ford Focus before 31 December were invited to participate in the All-New Ford Focus Challenge – Buy One, Win One.
The challenge was divided into three legs.
The first leg happened in early January this year, during which 20 questions related to Ford and the all-new Focus were sent to eligible participants via email and SMS. To make it to the second leg, participants were required to correctly answer these questions within the timeframe given. More than 90 entries qualified for the second stage.
In the second leg, which was conducted at the end of January, eligible participants were asked to describe in no more than 300 words how the smart features of their all-new Ford Focus fit their lifestyles. Judging was based on creativity, originality and relevance, and participants were also encouraged to submit photos and videos along with their entries. Judging was conducted in February and the 20 finalists for the finale event were selected.
For the final leg, the 20 finalists were required to compete in pairs in the three final rounds of competition.
