BMW 4-Series Coupe Shows Up In Full Suit
This is the first pictures and details about the new 2014 BMW 4-Series Coupe. On the outside this Bavarian model looks just like the concept that was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year. Please take note that this new 4-Series Coupe will replace the current 3-Series Coupe, Convertible and Grand Coupe models. Inside the cabin, we see a more family orientated sedan. The 4-Series Coupe has 4.640 mm in length, 1.830 mm in width, 1.360 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2.810 mm. For the moment, the BMW will give only three engines. The first one is the 2.0 liter diesel unit that can develop 181 horsepower. The second choice will be the petrol 2.0 liter unit that can output 242 HP. the range topping model is the 435i. It comes with the 3.0 twin-turbo petrol unit that can produce 306 horsepower. All the engine choices can be ordered with a six speed manual gearbox or with an eight speed automatic transmission. There are also a few pictures with the 435i dressed in M Sport package.
The BMW 4-Series Coupe Sport Line adds extra depth to the vehicle and adds eye-catching exterior features in high-gloss black. This means that the standard high-gloss black B-pillar and black wrap-around window strip accentuate the sporty character of the car. The kidney grille now features nine grille slats in a chrome-coloured surround, but the Sport Line also adds three black air intakes in the front apron and the back Air Breathers. 18-inch or 19-inch (optional) light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design complete the looks.
The 4-Series Coupe with Sport Line can be easily identified by the black trim strip level with the rear apron and the black exhaust tailpipe embellishers. Inside, the Sport Line adds the contrast between the black and red accents, seen on the trim rings in the inner circle of the instrument dials and on the stitching on the sports steering wheel. As an option, you can add coral red leather sport seats, red door trim panel and a red lower section for the instrument panel.
The 4-Series Coupe with Luxury Line adds discreet high-gloss chrome touches to the exterior. Moreover, we find 11 kidney grille slats with chrome-coloured fronts and matt black sides, two high-gloss double bridges in the front apron’s air intakes and chrome-coloured Air Breathers. Special 18-inch or 19-inch (optional) light-alloy wheels in multi-spoke design are available. The 4-Seris Coupe Luxury Line can be recognized from the rear by a high-gloss chrome strip in the rear apron and the chrome exhaust tailpipe embellishers. The interior features various chrome elements such as the surround for the audio and air conditioning system. Moreover, we find high-gloss wood strips, leather seats with distinctive stitching and a choice of two upholstery variants in four colours. As an option, Bmw offers Ash Grain anthracite fine wood trim surfaces and Pearl Gloss Chrome metal inlay.
The 4-Series with Modern Line adds matt chrome exterior trim elements, while the Bmw kidney grille with 11 slats in matt chrome, satinated aluminum Air Breathers, surrounds for the outer air intakes and the trim strip in the rear apron complete the theme. The standard window surround is in aluminum. 18-inch or 19-inch (optional) turbine-style light-alloy wheels also complete the looks. Inside, the 4-Series Modern Line features light-coloured dashboard coupled with a steering wheel in dark oyster (both also available in black). BMW will offer leather upholstery or cloth-leather combinations in oyster or black as well as a choice of four trim surfaces with accent strips in Pearl Gloss Chrome.
