Porsche Motorsport North America, Inc. has announced that production in Stuttgart, Germany has commenced on the 2014 Porsche 911 GT America, a race car based on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The car is designed exclusively for the new United Sports Car Racing series GT Daytona class for 2014. The new car will be delivered starting in October, 2013 and be offered for sale to those teams committed to running the entire 2014 USCR season. A newly developed race braking system further improves the excellent endurance qualities compared to its successful predecessor. The 380 millimetre slotted and inner-vented steel brake rotors at the front axle are decelerated by six-piston aluminium fixed callipers. The rear axle features a four-piston version.
