Ssangyong Actyon SUV Gets A Makeover

South-Korean SUV and MPV manufacturer SsangYong has unveiled the Actyon SUV (also known as the Korando) facelift in Seoul. Designed by renowned stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro, the popular Actyon SUV now comes with some minor exterior and interior tweaks and with some mechanical upgrades. On the front of this compact SUV we see a new grille while the headlights have been restyled. The bumper is also redesigned to offer a more aggressive and sporty appearance. At the back, the taillights have been modified and the SsangYong is offering new 18 inch wheels.

Inside the cabin, the customers will get new wood trim, new materials and red leather seats available in high-end versions. Also in the cabin, the driver will enjoy a multimedia system with a 7-inch touch screen and navigation. It still comes with a standard fit Bluetooth audio system, which not only allows calls to be made and received via a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone but also provides the ability to stream music via a portable device.

When the driver uses the remote key fob to unlock the vehicle, both the interior and door mirror mounted puddle lights are illuminated to light the way. Both are also lit automatically when the driver removes the key from the ignition and opens the door. Other convenience features include automatically folding/unfolding mirrors, which are operated when the doors are locked/unlocked using the remote key.

When it reaches 18.6mph (30km/h) the doors are automatically locked, but in a crash situation in which the airbags are deployed, the locked doors will automatically unlock, the interior light will turn on and the hazard lights will be activated.

Passenger safety comes first with dual front airbags fitted as standard, while there is also multi-function ESP (Electronic Stability Program), which integrates anti-rollover protection, brake assist, hill start assist and ESS (Emergency Stop Signal). Other standard safety features include first row active head restraints and ISOFIX points.

This SsangYong Actyon SUV facelift is now even more fuel efficient. It now has an Eco driving mode which offers 7.8-liters per 100 kilometers in front wheel version and equipped with an automatic transmission. At the best driving cycle, this SUV can do 100 kilometers with just 5.8-liters of fuel. SsangYong have also improved cabin comfort where the vibration and noise levels have been reduced by 10%.
