Following the successful introduction of the locally assembled BMW X1 sDrive20i and BMW X3 xDrive20i earlier this year, BMW has just  introduced the Advanced Diesel powered variants of the highly successful premium SAVs – the BMW X1 xDrive20d and BMW X3 xDrive20d. The new variants are the latest BMW vehicles to be assembled at the BMW Group Malaysia’s Assembly Plant in Kulim, Kedah.

At the heart of the BMW X1 xDrive20d and BMW X3 xDrive20d is a two-litre, four-cylinder common-rail direct injection BMW Advanced Diesel power plant, boasting 135kW and 184 horsepower capable of projecting exemplary performance capability and best-in-class fuel efficiency. Both of the new locally assembled X models are driven by the advanced 8-speed automatic transmission as standard, allowing drivers to enjoy an exceptionally smooth driving experience with power and efficiency to match that of a double-clutch transmission system.

This potent combination allows the BMW X1 xDrive20d to achieve an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.0 seconds with a top speed of 205 km/h, yet retain an average fuel consumption of just 5.4 litres per 100km. Meanwhile, the BMW X3 xDrive20d takes only 8.5 seconds to achieve a 0-100 km/h sprint with a top speed of 212 km/h while consuming only 5.6 litres per 100km.

The new locally assembled BMW X3 xDrive20d, meanwhile, sees impressive improvements which include a panoramic glass roof fitted as standard which further accentuates the BMW X3’s luxurious elegance. Also new to the BMW X3 xDrive20d are the 18” Light Alloy Y-Spoke Style 308 wheels along with aluminium satin roof rails and an automatically operated tailgate courtesy of Comfort Access which are fitted as standard.

New additions in the interior of the BMW X3 xDrive20d offer sporty and superior quality fittings with a sports leather steering wheel and aluminium interior trim finishers. The asymmetrical instrument panel and centre console is orientated towards the driver while the Navigation System Professional, which includes an 8.8-inch monitor and 12 loudspeaker hi-fi system are featured as a standard offering in the BMW X3 to ensure all infotainment, convenience and safety requirements of BMW ConnectedDrive are met and exceeded.  Owners of the new BMW X3 xDrive20d can also enjoy Internet and USB connectivity as well as Bluetooth hands free functions.

The new BMW X3 xDrive20d is available in five different exterior colours that include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Mineral Silver, Sparkling Bronze and Vermillion Red coupled with interior upholstery choices of Leather Nevada Black, Leather Nevada Red and Leather Nevada Havanna.

The new BMW X1 xDrive20d and BMW X3 xDrive20d are covered by BMW’s extensive service program, the BMW Service + Repair Inclusive (BS+RI) which covers the normal wear and tear repairs or replacements as well as maintenance, service and repair of factory components of the vehicle. The service program offers peace of mind BMW ownership and provides cover from three years from its original registration date or 60,000KM, whichever comes first. The retail prices for the new BMW X models (on the road, without insurance), with BMW Service Inclusive + Repair (BS+RI) are; BMW X1 xDrive20d: RM268,800.00 and for the BMW X3 xDrive20d: RM348,800.00.
