AMIRUL FADZIL WINS THE SHELL FUELSAVE CHALLENGE 2013
The Shell FuelSave Challenge 2013 ended on high crowning a triumphant Amirul Fadzil from Kuala Lumpur champion after he successfully clocked in 23.48 kilometres on one litre of Shell FuelSave 95. The challenge, held for the fifth consecutive year, marked another successful year in educating and encouraging thousands of Malaysians around the nation to be smarter drivers and how to make their fuel last longer.
The grand finale which was held in Kuala Lumpur today saw the three regional champions from the Northern; Central and Southern rounds take up the challenge again to prove that they were the most fuel efficient drivers by practising the Shell FuelSave Tips and using Shell FuelSave 95. The regional challenges kicked off in Penang in June, followed by Kuala Lumpur in August and finally in Johor Bahru in September this year.
“The Shell FuelSave Challenge has been a fantastic experience and a great learning opportunity for me as it showed me how practising simple fuel saving tips can go such a long way. I am definitely going to continue using the Shell FuelSave Tips as a guide for smarter and safer driving combined with Shell FuelSave 95 to ensure fuel efficiency,” remarked Amirul Fadzil who walked away with a grand prize of RM20,000.
The three participants travelled a stipulated route of 120 kilometres in the Hyundai-Inokom Elantra 1.8 Automatic Premium. Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors Sdn. Bhd. (HSDM), the official car sponsor for Shell FuelSave Challenge 2013 supported Shell Malaysia in providing contestants the “power of fuel efficiency beyond their expectations”.
Speaking at the event, Tuan Haji Azman said practising fuel efficiency is simple and Shell is committed to inspiring motorists to lead more sustainable lifestyles by using the right fuels and adopting smarter fuel saving habits. Tuan Haji Azman also added that Shell has made it a priority to continue its efforts in educating motorist on the importance of using the right fuels to get the best fuel efficiency results. Also present at the grand finale was Shell FuelSave Ambassador, Fahrin Ahmad, who commented that he was pleased to see the success of the challenge again this year.
The Shell FuelSave Challenge 2013 is one of Shell Malaysia’s many initiatives that reward real life drivers by inviting them to participate and win attractive cash prizes when they showcase their expertise in mastering Shell FuelSave Tips. More importantly, the objective of the challenge is part of Shell’s larger agenda on smarter mobility to educate Malaysian drivers to be more conscious about their driving habits and to become smart fuel savers.
