PROTON SALES FIGURES DRIVEN BY SAGA SV
Supported by the sales of the Exora, Persona, Prevé, Suprima S and in particular, the Saga SV, PROTON saw encouraging numbers registered in the third quarter of 2013, as compared to the corresponding quarter of 2012. PROTON sold 43,260 units in the third quarter of 2013, an increase of 27 percent as compared to quarter three of 2012.In comparison between quarter three and quarter two of 2013, PROTON also saw a 42 percent increase in sales.
The rise in sales figures was mainly attributed to the introduction of the Proton Saga SV, launched in June this year. Driven by the Saga SV, PROTON recorded a staggering 72 percent jump in the overall sales of the Saga in quarter three against quarter two of 2013.
The introduction of the Saga SV addresses the increasing need for an affordable car for first time buyers and small families, and also provides an economical solution to transportation issues for university and college students. Within a span of four months, more than 22,000 units of Saga SV have been registered.
PROTON’s latest offering, the Suprima S has also received strong interest from customers since its launch in August. Designed to meet the demanding needs of the modern lifestyle, the Proton Suprima S is a youthful hatchback with a dynamic and sporty shape, a premium interior and superior engine performance. It is also PROTON’s most well-equipped product to date.
