DTM Macau 2013, Victory for Mortara at Macau

DTM driver Edoardo Mortara scored his sixth consecutive victory at the street circuit in the former Portuguese colony of Macau. The Audi works driver having battled for the top position throughout the weekend with former DTM driver, Maro Engel, he was able to claim victory with a strong offensive at the end.

The twelve lap race was marked by safety car phases. Only on the penultimate lap, Mortara managed to move up from second to first with a spirited overtaking move and also set the fastest lap time of the race. With his Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, Maro Engel retired while in the lead on lap nine due to a puncture. Ex DTM driver, Renger van der Zande, had to surrender his position to Audi driver Mortara on lap ten. After a strong race, the Dutchman retired due to a collision on the final lap. Stefan Mücke was classified eighth with his Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
