PROTON SUPRIMA S ENTERS THAI MARKET
The Proton Suprima S is now on sale in the kingdom of Thailand. The hatchback was unveiled at the 2013 Thailand International Motor Expo in Bangkok by Her Excellency Datuk Nazirah Hussain, Malaysia Ambassador to Thailand, who was accompanied by the Chief Operating Officer (Commercial) of PROTON, En Hisham Othman. Also present was the Managing Director Mr.Thawatchai Jungsanguanpornsuk Phranakorn Auto Sales. Phranakorn Auto Sales is the sole distributor of Proton cars in Thailand.
The Proton Suprima S is available in the Premium variant, and marks the Malaysian automotive manufacturer’s most comprehensively equipped model introduced to the Thai market in terms of performance, styling, safety, driving dynamics and sophistication. Currently, Proton models available in Thailand are the Prevé, Saga FLX, Gen.2 and the Exora Bold.
Powered by PROTON’s 1.6L Turbo engine and mated with PROTON’s 7-speed ProTronic CVT, the Suprima S delivers power and torque equivalent to a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine. The 1.6L power plant produces 140 PS at 5000rpm, and with a maximum torque of 205Nm from 2000 to 4000rpm. As with all Proton models, its driving dynamics is enhanced with LOTUS Ride and Handling, giving the Suprima S an incomparable driving experience.
Other vital safety aids include Hill-Hold Assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with brake assist, Traction control, ABS brakes with EBD, Active Headrests, seat belt pre-tensioners, auto door locks, front and rear proximity sensors and reversing camera. The Proton Suprima S also comes with full leather seats, Push Start Button, paddle shifts, and auto cruise, amongst many other features.
The Suprima S is now officially open for booking in Thailand for THB805,000 (on-the-road). Five colours are available: Atlantic Blue, Fire Red, Genetic Silver, Solid White, Tranquility Black.
