0Suzuki Celerio Coming To Town
Suzuki has always been the master of small/compact reliable and interesting cars. Probably their most successful car in Europe is the Hungarian-built Swift, one of the smallest superminis around. Now Suzuki are trying to win a few more customers with a new model that’s a bit like the Swift, but smaller.
This is the Celerio, an A-segment city car that’s brand new. Having been previewed by the Suzuki Wind concept last year, the Hyundai i10 rival is heading towards the Geneva Motor Show. So, will this be a a Alto replacement or another small car to offer a wider reach.
But Switzerland will only serve as the European debut venue, since this “global A-segment model” made its debut today in India. There, it’s a Maruti model, which might mean the cars sold in Europe are actually going to be made in India.
Maruti claims the Celerio is 3600mm long and 1600mm wide. The engine is an aluminum block 1-liter three-cylinder petrol unit that makes 68PS at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 90Nm at 3500rpm.
