Subaru Shows Us A New Legacy Sedan
Subaru has introduced an all-new Legacy sedan at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. Now, Subaru hopes this 2015 Legacy will made it onto many shoppers’ lists.
The sedan has a new design language. The production version has some smooth lines, and it is bordering seems to be trivial at first glance. The best detail of the new design is the new hexagonal shield grille at the front. The model also benefit from stern-looking headlamps with LED running lamps up front, and a wide rear end.
Also important is the fact that Subaru claims that the Legacy is the most spacious mid-sized sedan in the class. Interior space is now 104.6 cubic feet (up from 103 cu ft), with passengers benefiting from gains in shoulder, hip, elbow and leg room. Trunk space has a new total of 15 cu ft.
The 2015 Legacy is being launched with two engine options. There is the 2.5-liter four-cylinder and the 3.6-liter six-cylinder. Output from the 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder sees a slight bump to 175 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. The second one, the 3.6-liter six-cylinder, pumps out 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. Both are connected to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
The 2.5-liter engine is expected to offer a fuel economy estimated at 26 mpg city / 36 mpg highway / 30 mpg combined, While the second model has a fuel economy ratings coming in at 20/28/23, which is 10% better than the six-cylinder it replaces. The 2015 Legacy will hit the road in the latter half of 2014
