Porsche will re-start the production of a new batch of GT3 engine to replace those affected by engine-fire issue recently and owners get a promise from Porsche of an additional 12-month extended warranty, to provide compensation for the troubles caused. The new engines will feature an “optimized piston rod screw connection,” that should keep the connecting rod in place. Once all the necessary technical validations will be completed, production will kick off and new engines will be shipped around the globe for owners of the affected vehicles. Porsche will issue then a certificate to owners of affected cars once repairs have been completed, as a means of documenting and certifying the work.
