Maserati Is Official Car Sponsor of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2014
Maserati is taking its fashionable wheels from the highway to the runway as the Official Car Sponsor of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready-To-Wear (KLFW) 2014 which took place from 18 to 22 June. With this year’s focus on a ‘Runway Collection’ theme and over 80 Malaysian designers, as well as four guest designers from Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines featuring fashion lines that command presence on the international stage, Maserati is completely in its element.
“As the epitome of refined style and elegance on the road and a brand that has earned worldwide acclaim, it is most befitting that the Italian marque takes on the role of Official Car Sponsor at the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2014. In the lead up to KLFW 2014, Maserati took to the streets in the heart of Kuala Lumpur in the Drive In Style activity, gearing up fashionistas with fantastic giveaways from KLFW’s supporting partners. The activity involved several of Malaysia’s favourite celebrities such as Sazzy Falak, Carey Ng, Hunny Madu and Kayda, getting behind the wheel of a Maserati and making fashionable appearances at Pavilion, Farenheit 88, Lot 10 and Avenue K where they met fans and shared prizes with Q&A participants.
During the official launch of KLFW on 16 June, NAZA Italia, the authorised importer and distributer of Maserati in Malaysia, provided a fleet of Maserati to chauffeur VIPs. Throughout the event, NAZA Italia also featured some of the sensational models from its current range; the GranTurismo MC, the GranCabrio MC of course, the brand new Ghibli. Maserati’s highlight of the occasion would be the Maserati Fashion Night Out on 21 June, during which the respected Malaysian designer Khoon Hooi showcased his new collection. The evening continued with the Maserati Fashion Show After Party at Michelangelo’s in Pavilion, where members of NAZA’s staff mingled with the brand’s patrons and fashion show attendees.
In conjunction with the KLFW 2014, NAZA Italia announced that it would be selecting a designer to put together a capsule collection inspired by Maserati and its Centennial celebration – a whole century of success and innovation. Maserati’s chosen designer (to be revealed in due course) shall add a Malaysian touch to Maserati’s true Italian style and create a collection that embodies the brand’s spirit of being ‘The Absolute Opposite of Ordinary’.
