CVSTOS Newcomer To The World Of haute horlogerie
As a relative newcomer to the world of haute horlogerie, CVSTOS has moved rather quickly to the top tier of Swiss watchmaking. Cvsto was officially registered in 2005 in the Swiss town of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Its founders are two old friends: the talented manager Sassoun Sirmakes, son of co-owner of Franck Muller company Vartan Sirmakes, and designer Antonio Terranova. The last one is well known in the watch industry and has a huge experience in such brands as Breitling, Zenith, Cartier, TAG-Heuer and Piaget.Ever since its launch in 2005, CVSTOS, with its distinctive high-tech approach to exclusive watchmaking, has boldly risen to the challenge of creating a pioneering style and a new market demand.
Taken directly from the Latin for “guardian”, the name CVSTOS was freely inspired by the boundless creativity of an exceptional team of complementary talents, each one fired by a burning passion to produce one-of-a-kind timepieces.
Illustrating a powerful holistic concept, the CVSTOS style embraces a particularly modern approach to design, one that manifests itself in the perfect balance between traditional watchmaking and state-of-the-art innovation.

The sky and ocean are spaces that Cvstos has used to supplement their legendary Challenge collection with new “sea” and “aviation” timepieces. Famous curved shaped case and the double-skeletonized dial are still the traditional features of CVSTOS watches. The innovative ideas are the use of advanced composite materials and patented by the brand watches technology.
CVSTOS Challenge Sea-Liner timepieces are presented in three variants – steel, steel with blue PVD and red gold. The basis of the dial resembles the finish of the yacht deck. Rubber strap and glowing in the dark hands coating with SuperLuminova make this watch practical accessory for rapid regattas and extreme sea travelling.
Aircraft timepiece CVSTOS Challenge Jet-Liner is inspired by the breathtaking world of private aviation. Due to the skeletonized dial and a thinner case, these watches are the thinnest in the CVSTOS collection. The more innovative version of this timepiece is CVSTOS Challenge Jet-Liner Carbon with carbon strap and body details. This material is much stronger than steel, though its weight is four times less. In order to achieve maximum strength and reliability, as well as the aesthetics of the watch, CVSTOS covers every single carbon fiber with seven layers of lacquer, pre-treating it before with a special laser.
Conceptual watches CVSTOS Challenge Jet-Liner Daedalus is named after the ancient Greek painter and sculptor Daedalus, who is well known for having built the labyrinth for the Minotaur. The special cells on the dial repeat the form of such labyrinth. They are made of ultra-strong titanium sheets with thickness of 0.2 millimeters by innovative laser cutting technology.
Also among the novelties from CVSTOS there is a timepiece CVSTOS Challenge Jet-Liner with titanium case. The choice of this winged material is not accidental. The titanium is widely applied in aircraft- and shipbuilding. It has low weight and because of its high viscosity and the special oxide skin is absolutely resistant against corrosion and mechanical influences.

At the pinnacle of fine watchmaking and feminine sophistication, the CVSTOS Re-Belle Lady Charm embodies irreverence and style.
Conceived in a bold, rock ‘n’ roll spirit, the Re-Belle Lady Charm is characterised by pure lines and generous volumes. The voluptuous proportions of the polished or diamond pave case enclose a partially open dial. This offers a window onto the mechanical heart within and the intricate movements, finely decorated with a guilloché rice grain motif. To read the time is to play a deliberate game of hide and seek, with hours and minutes glimpsed beneath a choice of themes: CVSTOS Corporate, Cupid, with heart and arrow, or Skull. Timekeeping efficiency is expressed in its simplest form; the adjustable function on this mechanical timepiece being the automatic winding mechanism, seen in the screw-down crown in grade-5 titanium. The crown is embellished with a ring of diamonds, for added grip. The timepiece offers water-resistance to 10 Atm.
CVSTOS takes playful refinement to the extreme with a selection of removable, interchangeable charms, designed to reflect life’s most memorable moments. Customisable according to her desires, the Re-Belle Lady Charm provides the CVSTOS woman infinite ways to show her mood or style through her timepiece – the most personal of accessories. Also a veritable jewelry piece, the Re-Belle Lady Charm, available in steel or 5N pink gold with jewelry embellishments is worn on a nitrile (synthetic rubber) strap in black or white, with a choice of pin or folding buckle, and removable pave links as an option. This model can also be worn on a choice of bracelets in brightly coloured varnished leather, or with an alligator or faux leopard fur strap. With this particularly inventive interpretation of a women’s fancy mechanical timepiece, CVSTOS once again asserts its position as a step ahead of time.
