490+HP Peugeot 308 R Hybrid Shown
We’ve seen the studio shots and the teasers, but here it is in the flesh at Auto Shanghai this week – the Peugeot 308 R Hybrid.
This here is the latest attempt by Peugeot to elevate their hot hatch game, and boy have they turned things up a notch. The latest 308 R isn’t just capable of a whooping 500PS of power, it achieves it while keeping its CO2 emissions at just 70g/km, owing to the dual powerplant plug-in electric hybrid system it uses.
Of course, it’s still a ways from being produced, so we’ll have to see how well it can put its power down on the track and on the road. Given that this version sends power to all four wheels, our guess is that it will deliver admirably.
