0Spyshots Reveal 2016 Hilux Inside and Out
Photographs of the next Hilux have been leaked to the web, which show that the new pick-up will feature styling cues so it mirrors the rest of the Toyota line-up. The headlights and grille are integrated, lengthened and sculpted to resemble a Corolla-esque front end.
The front hood seems to also have been lengthened considerably, perhaps to increase its crumple zone or to give it a more muscular appearance. Looking at its profile, a new kink by the rear windows stands out, as do the boxy flares on the wheel arches. The wheels themselves feature alloy rims with an interesting pattern.
The rear still sports conventional-looking brake cluster, with nothing extraordinary to note, save perhaps the chrome strip below the 3rd brake light. Over on the inside we see a four-spoke steering wheel finished in black and silver with what appears to be basic media control buttons. The large media system looks like it’s surrounded by buttons and may be too small to include navigation, but that may be a separate option. There’s also just a tip of a rounded gearknob which may be a manual shifter, sticking out at the edge of the photograph.
Turbodiesel engine options for the new Hilux are expected to be a 2.4 litre generating between 150-167PS and a 2.8 litre that does 177PS. Expect an official reveal soon with more details and better pictures.
