VW Jetta Limited Edition Launched, Starts at RM122,888
Volkswagen Malaysia has launched two new limited editions of the Jetta, the Club and Sport. Both come in a selection of eye-catching colours, including Candy White (pictured), Deep Black, Reflex Silver and Platinum Grey. The Jetta Sport, which you was showcased by Volkswagen at the launch event, comes with a five piece Zubehör body kit which includes new a side skirting, an aggressive looking front chin and a rear diffuser. You’ll also notice a new spoiler.
The new Sport Edition also has stylish new 17”rims, an upgrade over the standard 16” alloys on the regular Jetta. These “Silex” rims have 5 twin spokes and have Goodyear tyres wrapped around them. It also has tinted windows and the same handsome lines we see on the regular Jetta.
Over on the inside the Sport Edition is equipped with a Blaupunkt media unit on the centre which has a 7” display. The Blaupunkt unit is capable of GPS navigation and can be connected to phones for hands-free use while driving.
Performance-wise, expect the twin-charged 1.4 TSI and 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission with its paddle shifters to make a return. It may not seem like more of the same, but this is a very capable engine, with nearly 160 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque that push the Jetta Sport way over 220km/h.
Expect the Limited Edition Jetta Sport to be priced slightly lower than the regular Jetta at RM132,888. And if that’s not a great enough deal, there’s also the Jetta Club Edition that comes in at just RM122,888. The Club Edition may not have the external body kit and rim upgrade but it does come with the same 7” media unit as well as the aforementioned solar film treatment on the windows. With just 500 units of each being sold in Malaysia, it’s no question that demand for these cars will outstrip supply.
