Volkswagen Vento Arrives – Most Powerful Car in its Class
Volkswagen Malaysia today unveiled the new Volkswagen Vento, the sedan that doesn’t compromise.
Whilst the name might translate to ‘wind’ in Italian and Portugese, the Vento is a true testament of German brand values and world class engineering – and made for drivers who want the best in performance without sacrificing safety.
The locally-assembled Vento is available in three variants; the Trendline, Comfortline and Highline.
The Vento Highline is powered by the award-winning 1.2l turbocharged direct injection TSI engine with an output of 105PS. Paired with the 7-speed automatic transmission DSG with a maximum torque of 175Nm, the Vento is the sedan with the highest torque in its class. With superior drivability and performance, fuel consumption is remarkable at 5.5l per 100km. The Vento Highline is also rated 5-star by ASEAN NCAP for its range of safety features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
The 1.6l Comfortline and Trendline comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox with Tiptronic function with an output of 105PS, maximum torque of 153Nm and fuel consumption of 6.5l per 100km.
When it comes to looks, the Vento embodies the Volkswagen design DNA that perfectly balances form and functionality. Its stylish chrome grills and side contour lines, coupled with a solid stance, gives the Vento a dynamic exterior that is contemporary and elegant.
According to Mr Armin Keller, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia, the Vento is a sedan that has it all – performance, design, safety and innovation. “We are pleased to introduce the Volkswagen Vento to the local market. As the latest Volkswagen model to be assembled locally with our partner, DRB-Hicom, the Vento plays a vital role in our strategy to making our cars more accessible and affordable to Malaysians. And with the introduction of the multiline, we believe that there is a Vento to suit everybody’s needs.”
As per Volkswagen’s commitment to building stronger and safer cars, the new Vento is also constructed using laser welding which is standard for all Volkswagen vehicles. This is a testament to German automotive engineering.
“The Vento is best seller in other countries such as India, Russia and Latin America, and we are confident to replicate the success,” added Mr. Keller.
The new Vento is priced at RM79,888 for the Trendline, RM86888 for the Comfortline; and RM93,888 for the Highline. Five colours are available – Candy White, Flash Red, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel Grey and Deep Black.
