UMW Toyota Officially Introduces the New Alphard and Vellfire in Malaysia
UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, the sole authorised importer and distributor of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia, today introduces two new premium MPVs – the All-new Toyota Alphard and All-new Toyota Vellfire. While UMWT has offered the previous generation of the Alphard in its Toyota model line-up, this is the first time that the Vellfire is being officially sold in Malaysia. For the Alphard, it is third generation while the Vellfire, is the second generation.
Although both models have similarities and designs with strong character, the design themes are different; the Alphard is ‘Bravely Magnificent’ while the Vellfire looks ‘Bold and Fearless’. Each model also has styling features which provide, even at a glance, and the bold forms with accented surfaces depart from the conventional boxy look of traditional MPVs.
The all-new Toyota Alphard is available with a 3.5-litre V6 engine featuring Dual VVT-i and other advanced technologies for high fuel-efficiency and low emissions. The maximum output of 271PS of power and 340Nm of torque from the proven engine smoothly flows to the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential manual mode available. To reduce fuel consumption further, there is an ECO mode which the driver can activate if desired.
The Vellfire on the other hand has a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine which also features Dual VVT-i. The output from this engine is 180PS of power and 235Nm of torque, also delivered to the front wheels but via a 7-speed CVT.
On the inside, both vehicles maintain a premium image with elaborate workmanship and use of high-quality materials. The Alphard 3.5 Executive Lounge has semi-aniline leather upholstery throughout while the other variants have leather interiors. Comfort and convenience are apparent in both models with powered front seats and an Ottoman feature for the front passenger’s seats. As standard, both models get Captain Seats in the middle row which also have power reclining and Ottoman features, as well as a side table. The Alphard 3.5 Executive Lounge on the other hand has exclusive VIP seats with more width and additional features. It also features a 17-speaker JBL sound system.
Power sliding doors are present on both sides on all models as is a power back door, which can operated with the smart key.
Active and Passive safety systems are provided for both vehicles as standard. They include 7 SRS airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assis, Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control.
The all-new Alphard is offered in two variants – Alphard 3.5 Executive Lounge and Alphard 3.5 – while the Vellfire 2.5 is available in just one variant. Four colour choices are available for each model:
Luxury White Pearl CS. GF., White Pearl CS., Silver Metallic, and Black for the Alphard.
Burning Black CS. GF., White Pearl CS., Silver Metallic, and Black for the Vellfire.
In Peninsular Malaysia, the On-the-road the Alphard is offered at RM419,900. The range topping Alphard 3.5 Executive Lounge is priced at RM519,900. The Vellfire goes for just RM355,000. UMW Toyota is offering a 5-year warranty and a 10-year guarantee on parts availability.
