This is the first time AIG Malaysia has partnered with an auto show, which is expected to attract some 60,000 visitors till Sunday. The show was officiated by Minister of International Trade and Industry Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed.

Themed “Capturing New Technologies”, the auto show features renowned vehicle brands, aftermarket and accessory products. It is an enabler for car sales, matching car buyers with car brands and their models that span a broad spectrum of budgets. More than 150 exhibitors will lay out their extensive product range during the event.

As the sole insurance partner for the event, the AIG Malaysia’s booth is themed after New Zealand’s The All Blacks rugby team, which AIG is a global partner for.

Besides displaying the total portfolio of the brand, there will be games and trivia for visitors and a section reserved for them to experience the Haka 360 virtually. The booth also features Haka performers, who will thrill visitors at certain times during the show.

The booth also features a section for MyEg, to enable visitors to renew their road taxes and driver’s licenses.

“AIG is proud to be here in partnership with MAI to showcase the importance of insurance to the general public as well as the capability of a market leading insurer. This is especially important as the recently announced motor de-tariff will mean that car owners will have greater flexibility to choose solutions that meet their needs. In the past, most car owners have not had to take much interest in understanding their insurance policies. Pricing will also be closely aligned to risk, so drivers will need to take greater care on how they drive on our roads.

“MAI’s theme of capturing new technologies is one that AIG embraces, as the future of Internet of Things (IOT) will have a big impact on many industries, including insurance and the automotive sectors. The combination of AIG’s insurance experience and future technology will bring about a safer tomorrow and one that will continue to best serve our customers’ changing needs,” said AIG Malaysia CEO Antony Lee.

The Malaysia Autoshow 2016 is a snap-shot of the latest automotive technology as embodied in the new cars that were launched in Malaysia this year.

The new cars are categorised according to how motorists buy their cars – price, size, shape, style – and the event is to help car buyers choose the one that she likes amongst all that are available within his or her budget or choice of size or style or colour of car.
