Petrol prices rise….will Hyundai IONIQ sales rise?

We will know the final confirmation of fuel prices in the next few hours but for now it seems that RON97 will retail at RM2.60 per litre, a 20 cents increase from January. Diesel will be priced at RM2.15 per litre, a 10 cents increase, while Euro 5 diesel will retail at RM2.25 per litre, a 10 cents increase. So if you looking to buy a new car….it is time to look at a hybrid….and we have the best possible option right here for you to consider.

Hyundai Motor Company’s game-changing IONIQ hybrid sets new standards in the middle class car buying segment for its segment-leading fuel economy, segment leading levels of safety, and award winning design. The Hyundai IONIQ has been tested for fuel efficiency and has achieved a combined city / highway fuel economy figure of 58 MPG, or around 4.1 liters per 100 km, compared with 56 MPG for the equivalent Toyota Prius.

The IONIQ is Hyundai’s first dedicated platform for alternative energy drivetrains. Launched just months ago with a price that starts from RM99,888.00.

The IONIQ is sold with the following,

  • 5-year or 300,000km (whichever comes first) warranty of vehicle

  • 3-years or 60,000km (whichever comes first) of free service that includes parts, labour and engine oil

The IONIQ Hybrid is equipped with a newly developed, dedicated Kappa 1.6 Atkinson GDI four-cylinder engine. With a class-leading thermal efficiency of 40%, the 1.6 GDI powerplant delivers 105PS at 5,700rpm while providing maximum torque of 147Nm at 4,000rpm. It is combined with a newly developed, very efficient 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (6DCT) and, in collaboration with the 32kW electric motor, offers a maximum output of 141PS at 5700rpm and 265Nm of torque in first gear and 235Nm in second to sixth.
