Motul joins RJN Motorsport as title sponsor for 2017 Blancpain GT Series

NISMO’s livery in the Blancpain GT Series was revealed at Circuit Paul Ricard recently with lubricants partner Motul revealed as the title sponsor for the RJN Motorsport-run Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 entries.

The new livery used by Motul Team RJN mirrors what’s being used by Nissan in Super GT in both GT500 and GT300, as well as Australian Supercars in 2017.

NISMO’s long-time lubricants technical partner Motul is expanding its support of Nissan’s motorsport activities to a title-sponsorship role in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.

The No. 23 entry featuring Nissan / NISMO factory drivers Alex Buncombe, Lucas Ordóñez and Katsumasa Chiyo – plus the RJN Motorsport No. 22 driver and GT Academy winner Matt Simmons with Matt Parry and Struan Moore – will both feature Motul branding on the front and sides of the cars.

The No. 23 NISMO machine mirrors the No. 3 GT300 B-Max Super GT entry at the rear with a black-styled design, while the No. 22 transitions into red at the back. Both cars are entered in the PRO class in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in 2017.

Motul has been a long-time supporter of NISMO’s Blancpain GT Series efforts, with the brand part of the championship winning squad for the 2013 Pro-Am Championship win by Lucas Ordóñez and the 2015 Endurance Cup title earned by Buncombe, Chiyo and Wolfgang Reip.

This support is in addition to the long partnership with NISMO in Super GT in Japan that has earned five championships (2004, 2005, 2011, 2014 and 2015), as well as Nissan’s FIA GT1 world title in 2011.

Motul also became an official partner of the annual NISMO Festival at Fuji Speedway for the first time last year.

The Motul partnership is more than just a set of stickers on the car. The RJN Motorsport team will use four key Motul products in 2017: three engine oils and one differential oil specially developed for the Nissan R35 GT-R, including 2193E 5W40 and 2189E 75W140 which are OEM recommended.

The No. 22 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 will be in action at this week’s Blancpain GT Series test at Circuit Paul Ricard.
