Buying Cheap Sennheiser Earpad Replacements on Lazada
More than 2 years ago, I bought myself a pair of Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear headphones. They were heavily discounted and my previous pair of headphones were starting to give me cable issues. As the Momentum headphones came with a detachable, replaceable cable, I decided to give them a try.
By mid-2017, one cable had been knocked clean off by a Thai Airways food cart and another had become worn. I managed to get an original replacement for a ridiculous amount of money from Sennheiser.
I was happy with the build quality for the first 2 years, but it seems these set of cans were made to disintegrate after 2 years. Not only were there cable issues, but the hard case also had to be thrown away as the pleather surface was tearing apart. And as you can see from the image above, the chrome finish has begun to chip off, and the rubber seal around the ear pads had tears.
Like, major tears.

Official Sennheier replacements were, of course, extremely overpriced. So I decided to get a 3rd party set from Lazada.
It cost just RM19 with free shipping from Hong Kong from a Lazada seller called ‘BolehDeals’. Shipping took less than 2 weeks.
They weren’t very well packaged, so the foam took a slightly weird shape.
The colour matching was pretty horrible, as was the thickness of he foam.
3rd party on the left, original on the right. The 3rd party ones came slightly mishappen, but it stretches out once you put it on the headphones.
The colour difference also doesn’t quite matter once they’re on the headphones. There are very minute differences between the quality of the materials and the dimensions, but overall, the sound quality hasn’t been noticeably affected.
Would I recommend these spare parts? Yes. For the money, there’s really not much to complain about. You can find these earpads below:
