So what is a Mercedes PLUG-IN HYBRID?

Many Malaysians are still a little confused about the working of a hybrid car. Does it have a petrol engine? Do I charge it everyday? What happens when I run out battery power? How does it work in general?

So what is a Mercedes PLUG-IN HYBRID? First thing to understand is this.

  1. There is a petrol driven Mercedes engine under the front hood. It is a 2-litre petrol driven engine that produces 211hp and maximum torque of 350 newton metres.
  2. Then there is an electric motor with a battery system which has an output of up to 60 kW and delivers torque of 340 newton metres.
