2018 Yamaha MT-09 Enters Malaysian Market – RM47,388
Hong Leong Yamaha Motor starts the new year with the launch of the new MT-09, which comes with a more aggressive fascia as well as a raft of latest equipment. Like the previous version, the bike comes in CKD form.
First unveiled at last year’s EICMA motorcycle show, the MT-09 now comes with a LED double headlights inspired by the MT-10. The rear section has also been refreshed with LED lights and a swingarm-mounted licence plat holder.
Equipment-wise, the model dubbed as the “ultimate street fighter” features front and rear ABS, Traction Control as well as fully adjustable front and rear suspension.
The MT-09 retains the 847 cc triple-cylinder engine and six-speed transmission combo that makes 115 hp and 87.5 Nm. However, the gearbox is now equipped with a Quick Shift System for faster upshifts and Assist & Slipper clutch that offers 20% lighter clutch action, minimising excessive engine braking.
The new MT-09 is priced at RM47,388 including GST and will be available at all Yamaha Big Bike dealerships across the country by this February. It is offered in two colous; Night Fluo and Tech Black.
