He Xiaole to Debut in Mighty Nürburgring 24 Hours with Audi

Chinese professional racing driver He Xiaole will make his debut at the Nürburgring 24 Hours on May 12-13 in the new Audi R8 LMS GT4 for Phoenix Racing. He is joined by Dutchman Milan Dontje and Nicolaj Møller Madsen of Denmark as they take on one of the world’s most gruelling endurance races at the “Green Hell” in the Eifel region of Germany.

“We are delighted to welcome He Xiaole, an enormously respected and experienced Chinese driver, to compete for Audi with Phoenix Racing at the Nürburgring 24 Hours,” said Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia. “China’s motorsport scene is developing fast and the participation of the country’s top drivers in leading international events is an important part of this. We wish He and the whole Phoenix Racing team the best for the Nürburgring 24 Hours.”

He Xiaole began his career in 2004, and his since developed a CV of success in touring cars, GTs, Le Mans Prototypes and junior single seaters. Embarking upon his 15th season of the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) in 2018, the versatile driver has so far helped his teams win eight CTCC manufacturer titles and has personally finished as runner-up in the driver championship on no fewer than four occasions.

In 2017, He made his debut in Europe in the Nürburgring ADAC Zurich 24H Qualifying Race, the Nürburgring VLN5 6 Hours and the Nürburgring VLN9 4 Hours. While the famed German circuit may not be new to him, his Phoenix Racing weekend will be his first full 24-hour race.

In addition to the ten Audi Sport customer racing teams entered into the Nürburgring 24 Hours, where Audi Sport will be gunning for its fifth overall victory in ten events, the weekend will see the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup make its European debut and two rounds of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup, which includes seven Audi RS 3 LMS cars.

He will be part of the biggest Audi Sport customer racing festival of the season as he is welcomed into the fold. A keen runner, China’s Marathon Man of motorsport is sure to be race fit as he takes on the biggest motorsport challenge of his career to date.
