BHPETROL & MKJR ON THE GROUND TO PROMOTE OVERALL SAFETY DURING THE FESTIVE SEASON

With only a week left before Malaysians embark on the annual journey to celebrate the festive season with their loved ones, the Road Safety Council Malaysia (MKJR) and Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd (BHPetrol) officiated the Car Care Week Jom Balik Kampung Raya today, in BHPetrol Kg Sg Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya.

The 3 day programme will be held at three stations, BHPetrol Kg Sg Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya on Saturday 9th June 2018, BHPetrol Lebuhraya KL-Karak on Sunday 10th June 2018 and BHPetrol KL-Klang on Monday 11th June 2018.

Motorists can visit the BHPetrol stations above and receive a free 21-point inspection at the Car Care Week Jom Balik Kampung Raya from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Present at the officiation ceremony was Ir. Azizul Azily Ahmad (BHPetrol General Manager Supply, Retail and GPA), and Puan Aslynda binti Mohd Dahlan (Petaling Jaya Chief Assistant District Officer).

The 21-point inspection only takes 10-15mins per car, which covers; engine oil, gear oil, brake conditions, tyre conditions, vehicle lights and etc. In addition, the inspection is not subjected to any particular brand and the vehicle’s owner will be consulted and advised on any issues concerning their car after the inspection process.

Additionally, consumers who bring in cars for inspection will stand a chance to walk away with free gifts provided by Majlis Keselamatan Jalan Raya (MKJR) as well as goody bags full of snacks and drinks sponsored by BHPetrol’s suppliers.

While the importance of safe driving habits cannot be understated, the roadworthiness of vehicles on the roads is also an important aspect in reducing the number of casualties on Malaysian roads, particularly during the taxing journey home during festive seasons such as the Aidilfitri break.

Ir Azizul Azily Ahmad, General Manager Supply, Retail and Government & Public Affairs of BHPetrol said, “Promoting safe driving awareness especially during festive holidays has always been our Company priority to our customers.  Through this campaign, we hope all travellers will take the opportunity to get their car inspected at our selected stations and ensure their cars are in safe good condition for ‘raya balik kampung’ journey to meet their loved ones.”

“Based on statistics from the Department of Statistics Malaysia in 2014, road accidents are among the top 5 causes of death among Malaysians”, said Chief Assistant District Officer, Aslynda Mohd Dahlan, representing Petaling District Officer, Roslinah Md Jani.

She added, “I urge everyone to work together in reducing road accident and fatality rates by obeying traffic rules. Ensure your vehicle is in a safe condition, through safety inspections such as the Car Care Week (CCW) program held today, before starting your long journey home.”

As at April 2018, 163,010 vehicles have benefited from the Car Care Week (CCW) campaign since it was initiated in 2014.
