Perodua Focused on Reducing Myvi Order Backlog

With around 22,000 new Perodua Myvi yet to be delivered as of end-September, Perodua is focusing its efforts in reducing the waiting time for its valued customers to a more acceptable timeframe.

“We have yet to ascertain the full delivery timeframe but our manufacturing arm has begun production and deliveries will be forthcoming soon.

“Despite the unfortunate delays, we are extremely thankful that the Malaysian public continue to support Perodua. We offer our sincere apologies to the affected customers for the wait,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh said.

Between January and September this year, Perodua sold 168,200 vehicles – an 11% jump over the 151,600 vehicles it sold in the same period in 2017.

“The sales jump can be attributed to the positive response for the new Perodua Myvi as well as for our other models – the Axia, Bezza and Alza – which sold some 53,700, 38,100 and 18,400 units respectively this year so far,” Datuk (Dr) Aminar said.

However, Perodua sold only approximately 9,500 vehicles in total for September due to the Myvi production halt that began in August, attributed to a technical issue at one of its vendors.

“We invite our valued customers to visit our showrooms and speak to our authorised sales advisors to learn more about our models as well as our current promotions,” Datuk (Dr) Aminar said.
