The New 911 GT3 RS Rollout at Porsche Open Track Day

Hot on the heels of the recent introduction of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) carries on the momentum with the Porsche Open Track Day at the Sepang International Circuit. The unique event was not just a usual track day for Porsche owners, but it is also the ultimate vehicle delivery experience of a lifetime for the new owners of the road-approved high-performance sports car.

The new 911 GT3 RS produces 520 hp from a six-cylinder, four-litre, naturally-aspirated boxer engine with a rev limit of 9,000 rpm. Similar to other Porsche GT models, the chassis comes directly from the world of motorsport with an upgraded rear-axle steering system, all of which have been geared towards uncompromising precision. These upgrades add up to an approximate 24-second improvement in Nürburgring lap time. The 911 GT3 RS accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in an astounding 3.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 312 km/h.

“It was a unique occasion for six new owners of the new 911 GT3 RS. Not only did they receive the keys to their brand new sports car, but they also got to experience the capabilities of their car in a controlled environment and a day of adrenaline-pumping driving in a real motorsport atmosphere. I am sure they will not soon forget the experience of buying one of the greatest Porsche GT cars, a Porsche which they can drive to work during the weekdays and have fun on the racetrack on the weekend,” said Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of SDAP.

With the support of certified technical support, the Porsche Open Track Day offers owners of the two-door sports car a day of dynamic driving at the Sepang International Circuit in their very own sports cars. Owners were able to improve and sharpen their driving skills under the guidance of certified Porsche instructors and race drivers. They were also treated to a breathtaking view of the sports car line-up at the pit lane, in the comfort of an air-conditioned hospitality area at the pit area complete with a gourmet spread.

The retail base price for the new 911 GT3 RS starts from RM2,230,000, which includes a four-year warranty. The stated price includes all applicable duties, except registration fee, road tax and insurance.
