B-Quik Racing Expands Audi Programme in Thailand with New Audi R8 LMS GT3

Audi customer squad B-Quik Racing are to take the first Asia delivery of the 2019 evolution model Audi R8 LMS GT3. The team will field Audi’s newest race car in their Thailand Super Series Super Car GTM+ campaign in 2019, which begins at the Sepang International Circuit in April. The car represents a significant power upgrade for the team, which fielded an Audi R8 LMS ultra in 2018.

“B-Quik Racing has been a long-term partner of Audi Sport customer racing and with the new Audi R8 LMS they have now taken the next step in the team’s development,” said Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia. “We look forward to seeing them battling once more for titles in 2019.”

“We’re very pleased that it’s come together for the team to run the new 2019 Audi R8 LMS GT3 next year. This represents a big step forward for B-Quik Racing, but through our first decade we have consistently stepped up to the next level,” said Henk Kiks, CEO of B-Quik Co. Ltd. “I would like to thank Audi Sport customer racing Asia for all their work in putting this together which builds on the long-term support and assistance they have given us. We now have a lot of hard work to do before we start racing with our new car next year but the team will certainly have an extra spring in its step going into Christmas and New Year.”

B-Quik Racing has a history of success with the four rings. The team has won two Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup titles with Daniel Bilski, first the Am Cup in 2015, then the Masters Cup in 2016. The squad also took GTC class honours in the 2016 Sepang 12 Hours and the Super Car GTM+ Teams title in the 2017 season of the Thailand Super Series.

Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October, the 2019 Audi R8 LMS GT3 has been designed specifically for Audi Sport customers, with testing throughout the developmental stage coming from both professionals and amateur drivers. The new car delivers better durability and reliability, as well as optimised aerodynamics and cooling.

Based on feedback from drivers, engineering developments on the new car centred on four areas: aerodynamics, brake cooling, clutch and transmission. Together, the new innovations create better handling which translates into greater consistency on the race track, crucial to winning championships.

B-Quik Racing’s outing for their new car – to be wrapped in the team’s iconic yellow and black – will be at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit on April 19-21 for the 2019 Thailand Super Series season launch. The series then moves to the Chang International Circuit in Buriram on June 7-9, then to the beautiful beach-side street circuit of Bangsaen on August 28 – September 1. The series closes out with the finale back at the Chang International Circuit on October 25-27.
