Sime Darby Racing Team Returns To Compete In The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia 2024

This season Porsche Malaysia and Sime Darby is joined by Earl Bamber Motorsport

Following a debut season that saw a podium finish on home ground at Sepang International Circuit for Sime Darby Racing Team, Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, announces its plans to continue participating in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia 2024 (PCCA) for a second consecutive year.

Now in its 21st season, the PCCA will see all drivers battling in identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) cars, setting equal technical standards across the field. Sime Darby Racing Team, in partnership with Earl Bamber Motorsport (EBM) will be competing in the PRO category with Nazim Azman once again behind the wheel, a testament to their shared vision of carrying on Porsche’s motorsport heritage into a new generation.

Moreover, the Sime Darby Racing Team is poised to build on their achievements from the previous season and further establish themselves as a force to reckon with in this prestigious Asian one-make series.

Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance also stated, “Placing 6th overall and even a podium finish in Sepang, our debut season was filled with valuable racing experience, and we are eager to bring forward these learnings to the 2024 season.”

On top of that, Nazim Azman, said, “I am thrilled to continue my racing journey alongside the Sime Darby Racing Team in the PCCA and to continue improving my skills and gaining valuable experience, especially when competing against a strong line-up of racing drivers this season.”

Set to be an even more competitive season with 28 drivers across three categories, one of the highest in years, PCCA 2024 will be visiting six tracks in five countries, including two Formula 1 support races, making it much more exhilarating to watch.

After the first race in Shanghai during the Formula 1 race weekend, the championship will subsequently move to Suzuka, Japan before travelling to Southeast Asia for races in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. With a healthy mix of world-renowned tracks and fan-favourite street circuits, the 21st PCCA season is set to be an exhilarating one, so don’t miss out on it.
