Proton Persona Facelift 2019 Model Released

Less than a month ago, Proton showed the first images of their facelifted Iriz. Now, at the end of February, we’re getting the official images of the Proton Persona Facelift. The P2-21A or 2nd generation Persona first debuted in 2016 during Proton’s product offensive.

This facelifted version is set for launch later this year and will most probably bring a few new features. GKUI is probably going to be included here, but perhaps not as integrated into the car’s functionality as it is on the X70.

It looks like Proton have retained the two-tone interior but changed out a few things. The seat covers sport a funky looking design and the gear shifter looks like a more modern design. That also looks like a frameless rear view mirror but it could just be a problem with the image. We mentioned the change in the infotainment system earlier.  the rest of the interior looks familiar to the current model.

Outside, we get a few new design features. Proton’s Ethereal Bow grille design and Infinite Weave pattern have been interpreted for the Persona. Here we compare it to the Iriz facelift images from before. As you can see, they are two rather different looks for essentially the same shape. But just like the Iriz, the daytime running lights will only be placed on the bumpers, much like most cars used to in the early 2010s. Note the new 15″ rims.

Over at the rear, Proton spells their name out in all caps over the trunk lid instead of a badge. A nice lower bumper garnish and a slimmer spoiler has been added. From this angle, you’ll also spot a shark fin antenna.

If you’re interested in the current Persona, it’s still for sale.
