BMW 3 Series (G20) Now in Malaysia @ RM328,800

BMW Malaysia has officially launched the all-new seventh generation BMW 3 Series. Offered here in 330i M Sport form at the price of RM328,800, the sports sedan is available at all authorised BMW dealerships nationwide from today onwards.

The BMW 3-Series Sedan has epitomised the concept of sporty driving pleasure in the global premium midsize class for more than 40 years. Exuding dynamic design, agile handling, exceptional efficiency and innovative equipment features, it takes the signature characteristics of a BMW and turns the volume up several notches.

The sedan represents not only the core of the BMW 3-Series range (of which over 15 million units have now been sold worldwide) but also the heartbeat of the BMW brand.

When the first BMW 3-Series was launched in 1975, it simultaneously brought to life a new breed of car; the sports sedan concept underpinned the rise of the 3-Series to become BMW’s most successful model – a status it retains to this day.

Over the course of its six model generations to date, the BMW 3-Series has been ranked the world’s biggest-selling premium car, led the way for high-performance powertrain and chassis technology and earned a reputation as a pioneer of technological innovations in the midsize segment.

Appearance-wise, the G20 is 76 mm longer (4,709 mm), 16 mm wider (1,827 mm) and just 6 mm taller (1,435 mm) than its predecessor, improving the comfort of passengers in the rear seat. The wheelbase is also longer by 41 mm (2,851 mm).

The classic kidney grille is now notably larger and wider. It extends to the twin headlights that are fully LED-equipped and boasts a Bi-LED technology. Slim, three-dimensional taillights are fitted in an L shape with emphasis on the use of smoked glass for a classy appeal.

The car retains the familiar silhouette with its long wheelbase, short overhang, subtle coupe-like roofline and Hofmeister kink in the C-pillar. Rear spoiler lip and two 90-mm tailpipes give the car a sporting edge.

Apart from the multifunction M Sport leather steering wheel with shift paddles and ambient lighting, the cabin of the 3 Series is brimming with new futuristic enhancements, such as the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and the BMW Digital Key.

The former enables drivers to operate their car and access its functions and information simply by speaking, while the latter allows the car to be locked and unlocked with the use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology available on selected Samsung Android smartphones. The engine can then be started by placing the smartphone in the designated charging tray.

Additionally, the car also comes with BMW Live Cockpit Professional which combines a fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 10.25-inch Control Display, as well as Park Assist and Reversing Assist.

With 258 hp and 400 Nm from 1,550 to 4,400 rpm, the 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine is the most powerful four-cylinder engine ever fitted in a BMW model.

It enables the 330i to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, and with the updated 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, the sports sedan only consumes 6.4 litre of fuel for every 100 km.

Thanks to its intelligent lightweight construction, the 3 Series is now 25 kg lighter with a kerb weight of 1,545 kg. The rigidity levels of the body structure and suspension attachment have been enhanced as well, with a 50:50 axle load distribution and a low centre of gravity.

The M Sport suspension continuously functions in relation to the changing spring travel, while the expanded track widths improve agility and steering precision.

The 330i M Sport is offered in five colours, namely Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Mineral Grey and Sunset Orange, paired with Black or Cognac Leather Vernasca upholstery and Aluminium Tetragon interior trim.
