Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Locally Assembles GLC 300 Coupe, Shows New GLE

At an event in Sentul today Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launched their locally-assembled GLC 300 Coupe. It’s worth noting that this model was just given a facelift earlier this week.

The locally-assembled model will come in at under RM400,000 and features an 2-litre turbocharged inline 4 petrol engine with a 9G Tronic conventional automatic transmission. This setup sends 241hp and 370Nm of torque to all four wheels, giving it a 0-100km/h time of 6.5 seconds.

The GLC 300 Coupe is packaged with AMG Line trim. This means some range-topping equipment, including Artico Leather upholstery, AMG Sports pedals, AMG Sports steering with a flat bottom, panoramic sunroof, Burmester surround sound system, 20″ rims and more. The only big disappointment might be the miniscule 7″ infotainment display. But for the price, this is really good value for money.

At the same Hungry for Adventure festival, MBM also previewed their all-new GLE SUV. This is expected to sell at about RM634K. This new GLE was built on a whole new modular architecture. The unit shown to us was decked out in AMG Line kit including 22″ wheels, more aggressive bumpers and skirts, and wheel arches.

Interestingly, the GLE will be offered as both a 5-seater and 7-seater. Similar to the CLS 450, it will get a 3-litre inline 6 petrol engine with an ISG and 48V mild hybrid system. The E-Active Body Control system is also featured here.

More photos when they are made available.
