Peugeot 4008 to rival German sports SUVs
We have just seen images of the all new Peugeot 4008 on www.autoexpress.co.uk and it looks very impressive. To be positioned between the popular 3008 and the just arrived 5008 this sports SUV size will be halfway between the 4.45m of the 3008 and the 4.65m of the 5008.
Based on the EMP2 platform, this Peugeot 4008 will be a close cousin to the Citroen DS7 Crossback and rumoured to carry a 300hp engine as Peugeot looks towards hybrid powerplants.
As the European and global market of buyers move away from traditional sedans and closer to SUV’s and Crossovers, Peugeot wants to expand its SUV range and this is just a start.
Peugeot also is looking at nudging into its German rivals market share as this 4008 targets BMW X4, Audi Q4 and Mercedes GLE Coupe buyers with a better price position while providing cabin fitment and materials to challenge head on.
It probably launch date is somewhere in 2020 and the Peugeot 4008 will be marketed in France with its price starting from 30,000 euro.
