Porsche pickup truck might just be the rebirth of the Cayenne success

You might just buy one because you can!

With four doors, luxuriously comfortable seating for five, room for the gear a family needs to enjoy an active lifestyle, and a towing capacity of more than 7,700 pounds, the Porsche Cayenne was the first Porsche to provide such true utility back in 2003. Generation after generation since it has not disappointed buyers and continues to be Porsche’s most successful model.

Critics at the time laughed at Porsche and put them down to being silly to try and compete with established luxury SUV’s like the Range Rover, BMW X5 and the Mercedes ML.

Porsche made the critics eat their words when the Cayenne became the hottest selling luxury SUV in the segment and also the Cayenne saved Porsche from financial issues and made the company so much money that they were giddy with excitement.

The Porsche Cayenne takes its name from the one of the very hottest of red peppers, recognized around the world as a symbol for zestful spiciness. With as much as 450 horsepower, with 0-to-62 mph sprint times as quick as 5.6 seconds, and with Porsche Traction Management and other innovative technologies that provide sure-footedness in high-speed lane changes and for crawling up slick rock and down steep and rocky trails, the Porsche Cayenne is the first true sport-utility.

So, Porsche already has capable off-road technology. Porsche already has cabin luxury at its call. Now all it needs is a designer to make the Porsche pickup truck look more desirable than the rest without moving away from the Porsche design DNA.
